Welcome to the Havana Rabbit Breeders Association website.
The Havana breed is one of the oldest breeds in the American Rabbit Breeders Association, dating back to 1916. Our club was established in 1925 making us one of the oldest chartered clubs in the ARBA. The breed has been part of the foundation of a number of current breeds. This is one very competitive breed when picking "Best in Show". If you are curious or new to our breed you will soon discover that the Havana is a fun and challenging breed. Not only do they need a compact body type but also a mink-like fur coat and dark intense color! As you browse though the site you will find information regarding the history of our breed, along with information regarding where you can find quality stock near you. The Havana is a compact breed weighing between 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 lbs. as seniors. They are known for their wonderful fur coat, even temperament, and medium size. There are five recognized varieties listed in the order that they were accepted---Chocolate, Blue, Black, Broken and Lilac. |

My plans are to have a silent auction using rabbit carriers as aka “baskets”. I would like to do 10 baskets starting with them at $50 dollars, each basket will have a different theme. The carrier size can be whatever you want to purchase ie one hole, two-hole ext. I will list my top 10 ideas below with examples. I will have a printed slips with the number at Nationals and if you want to take that theme and get started that would be great. I will keep a spread sheet of who picked each theme and then send out reminders closer to Convention and list open themes throughout. I figured if you are lacking space for a carrier, you can purchase one when you arrive, if you need to bring an animal in one, we can clean it up and get it ready as well. This will initially lot us $500 dollars to start out, take up less space in our booth and allow our booth committee to decorate and use the theme better. I am also in charge of awards at Convention as far as display and distribution so I think I can work around this space and a lot our booth to function better. I will have large display tags #1 ext for each carrier and then will have the silent auction sheets labeled and displayed where they will be easy to get to, sign up and not take up to much room in the booth.
