"CAN YOU MUSTER THE LUSTER?" ~ "THE MINK OF THE RABBIT FAMILY"
Welcome to the Havana Rabbit Breeders Association website.
The Havana breed is one of the oldest breeds in the American Rabbit Breeders Association, dating back to 1916. Our club was established in 1925 making us one of the oldest chartered clubs in the ARBA. The breed has been part of the foundation of a number of current breeds. This is one very competitive breed when picking "Best in Show". If you are curious or new to our breed you will soon discover that the Havana is a fun and challenging breed. Not only do they need a compact body type but also a mink-like fur coat and dark intense color! As you browse though the site you will find information regarding the history of our breed, along with information regarding where you can find quality stock near you. The Havana is a compact breed weighing between 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 lbs. as seniors. They are known for their wonderful fur coat, even temperament, and medium size. There are five recognized varieties listed in the order that they were accepted---Chocolate, Blue, Black, Broken and Lilac. 2023 SPRING NATIONAL
